Three 5-star Grand Prix classes took place this weekend, including CSIO5* Sopot which was won by Germany’s Patrick Stuehlmeyer with 13-year old Stallion Lacan producing the only double clear rounds in the 1m60 Grand Prix. In second place, Fabio De Costa from Brazil with Allegro van de Donkhoeve carrying 1 time fault in each round and in third on 4+4 was Belgium’s Jerome Guery with Papillon Z.

Another 5-star Grand Prix with a lot of prize money was the $380,000 Horseware Ireland 1m60 Grand Prix at Tryon International Equestrian Center which was won by Kristen Vanderveen with Bull Run’s Faustino De Tili who was the fastest of 4 other double clear contestants. In second place, Andrew Welles with Brindis Bogibo followed by David Blake with Binkie.

Ice-man Scott Brash lit up the Longines Global Champions Tour in Cannes with Hello Forever, followed by Edwina – Tops Alexander (who now lies in second position on the overall rankings) with the fiesty Lintea Tequila and in third Germany’s Daniel Deusser with Equita van’t Zorgvliet.

The CSI3* Grand Prix of Luxembourg went to Wout-Jan Van Der Schans and Aquila SFN who were the fastest of two combinations who made it to the jump-off versus Brazil’s Adir Abreu Junior and Cula Lou V in Peter Schumacher’s 1m50 track. In third place was Karina Aziz and Czardas 30.

The CSI2* Grand Prix of Asten was won by Bruno Passaro from Argentine with Chicago Z in 40.93 seconds and Matias Albaraccin also from the Argentine with Cannavaro 9 just 2-and-half seconds slower. In third was Kirsten Rikkert with Winde R.A.G.
