Ludger Beerbaum wins the CSI5* in Doha

Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum pulled off a cracking performance with Chiara as one of only two riders who produced triple clear rounds over Frank Rothenburger’s extremely competitive Grand Prix track.

The very experienced course designer invited 43 top riders, and just a little less than half the combinations produced a clean sheet the first round. The second round however asked more difficult, serious questions with only 5 double clears including Nicola Philippaerts with Zilverstar T, Luciana Diniz with the ever so stylish Chestnut Fit For Fun, Christian Ahlmann & the sharp looking Codex One, Daniel Deusser with a cracking mount called First Class Van Eeckelghem by Balou Du Rouet.

In the jump off, only Deusser & Beerbaum managed to jump clear and only 0.21 seconds separated them at the finish line but with these kind of Grand Prix classes this cost around €65,000 !!

In third place, carrying 4 faults was Ahlamnn & Codex One, Portuguese Diniz was fourth and in fifth & sixth place respectively were Philippaerts & Janika Sprunger.
