Hiroshi Hoketsu puts off Olympic Dream

Japan’s Dressage veteran Hiroshi Hoketsu, 75 years of age, has 3 Olympic Games (Tokyo, Beijing and London) and 2 World Equestrian Games’ (Aachen and Lexington) under his belt, however the dream of competing in Rio this year has been shattered. He would have been the oldest athlete in history to compete at the Olympic Games.

This cancellation is due to the ” un-readiness” of his horse who is not fit for such a championship this year.

“I’m so sorry that I have to give up my Olympic dream, but I don’t want to push my horse over his limits. I didn’t decide anything for the future yet. For now, the most important thing is getting my horse healthy again”, says Hiroshi Hoketsu.
